Parts and products are usually processed into a supply chain through the warehouse then transferred into the production area, before returning to the warehouse as finished products, for storage, until they are ready to be transported to the end user. Module Format

The course is designed to give you a detailed introduction to, and understanding of, the importance of manual handling equipment and warehouse health and safety beginning by exploring ‘manual handling equipment’ we delve into the reasons why this equipment is used, how it is used, and why the correct usage is vital to ensure safety within the warehouse.

The course the moves on to explore the main types of material handling equipment such as counterbalance forklift trucks, reach trucks and high level order pickers, which all ensure the safety of your warehouse team, discussing why and how each piece of equipment can be utilised.

The course concludes by looking at responsibilities, of both the employer and employee, within a warehouse when it comes to addressing health and safety and how they must work together to ensure the safest possible working environment for the business. The section of the course then moves onto risk assessments, how they are conducted and what exactly they entail. The section closes with a discussion on the importance of carrying out risk assessments within the warehouse environment to ensure each learner has a complete understanding of health and safety and manual handling within a modern warehouse environment.
