One of those teams, Platform Development, is key to ensuring our online format works for our learners. Because our courses are 100% online, this team plays a key role in our students’ success.
What Does the Platform Development Team Do?
The Platform Development Team is responsible for ensuring all the relevant content is accessible on the platform. As well as any course content relevant to your qualification, you’ll also receive access to DLC’s Resource Library. This is exclusive to our students and provides additional resources to support you throughout your learning. You can access resources such as assessment writing guides, revision techniques, and tips on Harvard referencing. You’ll also receive access to the Student Area, where you can find updates from the Support and Education teams. Additionally, you can connect with other students via the platform for further motivation and peer support.
Because there’s so much to access on the DLC Hub, the role of the Platform Development Team is highly demanding. With the constant need to update and optimise resources, they are the backbone, ensuring the smooth operation of the hub. Their high level of coordination and technical expertise means that our learners can fully benefit from everything the hub has to offer.

Platform Development and Maintenance
This includes designing, developing, and maintaining the core functions of the platform. We currently have thousands of active students and continue to grow as the need for professional development increases across industries. Because of this, a core role for the Platform Development Team is ensuring that the DLC Hub is robust and scalable to meet the growing demand.
User Experience (UX) Design
This involves creating a seamless and easy-to-navigate interface. This is crucial as it enhances the learning experience by making working through your course as straightforward as possible.
When you log in to the DLC Hub for the first time, you’ll immediately notice the intuitive navigation pane on the left. This neatly organises all your content, starting with your dashboard for a quick overview, followed by easy access to your course content. Here, you’ll find detailed module information, learner benefits, and everything else you need to successfully manage your studies. This will help you to focus on your learning goals without getting overwhelmed by unnecessary clutter.
Manage Content
The team also works closely with the Education Team to effectively manage all content on the platform. They upload, organise, and distribute educational content in line with the requirements of our Education Team and the external professional bodies that we work with. This ranges from online reading materials to end-of-unit quizzes and assignments.
The educational content you receive will vary depending on the course you’re studying. For example, if you’re studying a CIPS Procurement course, you’ll have access to exclusive practice questions designed specifically for DLC learners, helping you thoroughly prepare for upcoming exams. If you’re pursuing a CMI Leadership and Management course, you’ll be able to complete CMI-certified activities after finishing your first unit. This gives your tutor the opportunity to offer valuable feedback while ensuring you’re on track with your learning progress.
Testing & Troubleshooting
The team regularly conducts testing to proactively identify and address performance issues and usability challenges. They offer technical support, troubleshoot bugs, and resolve functionality issues to ensure a smooth user experience. If you were to encounter a technical problem while using the platform, you would simply notify a member of the Support Team, who will liaise with the Platform Development Team to resolve the issue promptly.

Tre started his career at DLC Training as a Platform Development apprentice and has since progressed into a full-time eLearning Platform Developer. When asked what he enjoys about his role, he shared, “There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing my work directly impacts how people learn and grow. I enjoy the challenge of creating intuitive, engaging systems that make education more accessible and effective for everyone, no matter where they are.”
Adam is one of our most experienced team members and is also responsible for web development. When asked what he enjoys most about his role, he shared, “What excites me about my role is the chance to blend technology with education. Every time we launch a new feature or enhance the user experience, we’re not just improving a platform – we’re helping learners access knowledge more effectively.
