One of the benefits of a distance learning course is the stability. There’s no starting again, no moving to a new place or having to make new friends. You don’t have to change your current life at all. You simply adjust the course to suit you and your commitments.

Study when you want to, in a place you feel comfortable and at a pace that’s right for you. An online qualification should be less hassle and less stress, right?

Well, it’s not always the case. DLC Training are getting involved in Stress Awareness Month this April, to highlight the daily stresses that everybody goes through. Especially our hardworking students.

Juggling a full time job, part time distance learning qualification plus a family life, social life, housework… sometimes it can be overwhelming. But that’s normal. It happens to us all – and the key, is well, relaxing.

Easier said than done? The wide array of courses from DLC Training include MCIPs, management courses, team leader training, online manufacturing qualifications, even AAT Accountancy certificates. And they’re all entirely flexible.

Whether you’re studying with IoSCM CILT, CIPS, ILM or one of the many other institutes we’re partnered with, you’re our number one priority.

Big project coming up at work? Put your course on hold. Restart it when you’ve got less on your plate.

Feeling like you’ve taken too much on? Give our highly trained mentors a call. It’s what they’re here for. We offer more one to one support than any other training provider. Out of hours, too. We’ll help breakdown your course to something much more manageable.

Worried about your upcoming exams? Well, that’s why we employ a team of industry expert tutors. The DLC Training team are here to support, advise and guide you. We send out mock exams and assignments, which are marked and fed back to every student.

This unrivalled support programme comes guaranteed with any distance learning course that you enrol on. From our supply chain qualifications to management and leadership courses, even Logistics and Transport training.

Remember, we’re dedicated to you and your career aspirations. So with us, you know you can relax.

If you are still feeling the pressure, read our tips and techniques on coping with stress:

  • Try and identify what it is that’s making you anxious. Money issues? Relationships? If you can alter your circumstances to ease the stress, then you should take the necessary steps to do so.
  • Your health is a big factor too. A healthy and active lifestyle can make you feel more rested and energised when working and studying your online qualification.
  • Find someone you can confide in. Talking to others about your worries and troubles is actually a great way to relieve pressure.
  • Try different breathing techniques or relaxation methods such as meditation. Taking that time to empty your busy head, can help you focus and prioritise.

Remember, you are in control. If you need a break from your studies or someone to support you, DLC Training are here. It’s what makes us so different. And the UK’s number one choice for supply chain courses.

Some of our students have exams. If you’re enrolled in a AAT, CILT, CIPS or IOM qualification, you may feel worry in the run up, or even, on the day of your examination.

Revising

Revision is a key element to your success, being well prepared and confident that you’ve done all you can will elevate stress and anxiety on the big day. You should consider the following:

  • Create a realistic revision schedule
  • Find the revision technique that suit you the best. Is it video and tutorials? Reading? Mock exams?
  • Ensure your notes are personal to you, giving you a better to chance to remember your studies
  • Speak to your tutor if there’s anything you’re unsure about, we’re here to help

Whilst revision is vital, you can also overdo it. Spending hours going over notes and old exams can make you tired and unfocused.

The Big Day

Everyone in your position will be feeling the nerves. Remember to tell yourself that you’re not the only one, it’s completely natural.

It’s wise to ensure you’ve had a good start to the day, a healthy breakfast perhaps. Remember to equip yourself with plenty of water and any other resources you may need.

Read through each question carefully, ensuring you understand before answering. And most importantly, don’t panic if you get stuck. Move on and return to the question at the end.

Once again, the team at DLC Training are here. Regardless of the distance learning course or qualification you may be studying, with any of our accredited institutes, our mission is your success.
